Good Ol' Days in Fort Scott, KS (6/5/04)

In their sixth consecutive year headlining the Good Ol' Days "Teen Dance," Pond Monkeys pulled out all the stops to put on one of their most entertaining shows yet.  Hundreds of people packed beneath the Main Street tent to experience an eclectic Pond Monkeys set of songs both new and old.  The band kicked off the show with an updated version of "Solo" before tearing into "I'll Take It From Here" (both from 2003's Demonstration IV album) and a faithful cover of Green Day's "She."  Before the first set was done, the boys had ripped through a dozen songs including "She's Out Of The Way", "Prepare The Noose", and "Your Fiction", as well as an improvised cover of Modest Mouse's "Bury Me With It."  Despite a few technical difficulties with the power, the band never quit rocking.

For the first time in their six years of the "Teen Dance", Pond Monkeys chose to share the stage with a couple of different performers throughout the evening.  Fort Scott's own Heads Up kicked off the night with a rousing set of good ol' rock and roll.  Later, Bobby Wintle from Parsons, KS, played a brief set of acoustic numbers.  Both acts received a very enthusiastic response from the crowd.
